Version 4.0 of the Electos Content Managed Web site and Web Shop system delivers new features and enhancements designed to make managing your Web site’s content and Web Shop easier than ever!

This latest version includes an improved Studio, site administration and security features, support for SEO-friendly URLs, new templates for easily building member sign-up and Web shop order detail pages, simpler installation, and more!

Studio Flash and ASP-based upload components provide support for multiple file and unlimited file size uploads. Filter option added to List view for each screen in Studio and Site Manager. Two new Reports - Search Details and Article Details - are included. A new Share and Copy option has been added for categories. More options are provided while creating page, category, multi-item page, catalog etc so all needed settings can be done in one step (e.g. Exclude from Menu). New Next and Previous buttons are available while editing the document, making it easier to edit multiple page in the same categories. Automatic generation of a website’s Sitemap.xml file for Search Engine crawlers. Improved Website Member registration functionality.

Web Shop

• A new Activation option has been added for products and product groups.
• New Share, Copy, Exclude from Web Shop options have been added for products.
• A new Coupon function has been implemented for offering online coupons for use in the Web Shop.
• Custom Values are now support to allow any input that hasn’t been defined by default.
• Types and Attributes are now implemented at the product level.
• Quantity Price is now available for products.

Templates

• New Sign-up page for Members supports new member sign-ups from the website.
• Login functionality for Web Shop members to display details and order history.
• New menu caching and search logic for improved site performance.

• The Image Gallery template now features Lightbox functionality for better looking gallery pages.

Administration & Security

• New security features are implemented while users are logging-in to prevent brute-force attacks.
• New Password Strength feature for Studio and Website users displays a "password strength value" to warn users and administrators of weak passwords.
• New Import option of website allows users to add an existing website to the Site Manager. It is now also possible to add old Electos websites without having to also install an old Electos version.

Simpler Installation

• New "Stand Alone" version integrates the Visual DataFlex Web Application Server into the installation process for use with Electos applications. This enables the installation of Electos without having to also install the Visual DataFlex software suite separately.
